Frequently Asked Questions
Which devices does Cast Forge Studio support?
Cast Forge Studio runs natively on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. A single App Store purchase unlocks the app on all your Apple devices. iOS 18 or macOS 15 Sequoia (or later) is required.
How does iCloud sync work?
Your project and episode metadata syncs automatically via CloudKit using your iCloud account. Large media files are stored locally on each device. You can disable iCloud sync at any time from Settings → Sync.
Does the AI transcription send my audio to the cloud?
No. All transcription is performed entirely on your device using Apple's on-device Speech framework. Your audio never leaves your device and is not sent to any server.
Can I import existing recordings?
Yes. Cast Forge Studio supports importing audio files from the Files app, Voice Memos, and any app that shares audio via the standard iOS/macOS share sheet. Supported formats include M4A, MP3, WAV, and AIFF.
How do I export clips for social media?
Open any episode, navigate to the Clips tab, select or create a highlight, then tap Export. You can choose the output format and share directly to any app on your device via the system share sheet.
I deleted an episode by accident. Can I recover it?
Deleted episodes are permanently removed immediately. We recommend reviewing an episode before swiping to delete. Future versions of Cast Forge Studio will include a Trash / Recently Deleted feature.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Cast Forge Studio is a universal purchase tied to your Apple ID. Simply download it from the App Store on your new device — no restore required. Your iCloud data will sync automatically once you sign in.
Something isn't working. What should I do?
First try force-quitting and relaunching the app. If the issue persists, open a bug report on GitHub with a description of what happened. We take every bug report seriously.
