Privacy Policy — Cast Forge Studio

The short version

✓ We do not collect personal data. Cast Forge Studio has no account system, no analytics SDK, and no telemetry servers.

✓ Your audio never leaves your device. All transcription is performed on-device using Apple's Speech framework.

✓ iCloud sync is optional and private. Sync data goes through your own iCloud account via CloudKit — we have no access to it.

✓ We don't sell, share, or monetise your data in any way.

1. Who we are

Cast Forge Studio is developed by Burak Dinler, an independent developer. References to "we", "our", or "us" in this policy refer to Burak Dinler as the developer and publisher of Cast Forge Studio on the Apple App Store.

2. Data we collect

We collect no personal data directly. Cast Forge Studio does not have a backend server, user accounts, or any form of analytics or tracking built into the app.

The following data may be stored locally on your device only:

Project names and descriptions you create
Episode titles, notes, and status you enter
Audio recordings you make or import
Transcript text generated on your device
App preferences you configure in Settings

None of this data is transmitted to us or to any third-party server.

3. iCloud sync (optional)

Cast Forge Studio optionally syncs project metadata across your Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit framework. This sync is:

Optional. You can disable it at any time from Settings → Sync → iCloud Sync.
Private. Data is stored in your personal iCloud account. We have no access to your iCloud data.
Scoped. Only project and episode metadata syncs via iCloud. Large media files are always stored locally.

When you use iCloud sync, your data is governed by Apple's iCloud Terms and Conditions and Apple's Privacy Policy in addition to this policy. We encourage you to review Apple's Privacy Policy.

4. Microphone and audio data

Cast Forge Studio requests access to your device's microphone solely to allow you to record audio for your episodes. This access is only active while you are actively recording within the app.

Audio recordings are stored locally on your device only. We never upload, transmit, or process your audio on any remote server.

5. On-device AI and transcription

Cast Forge Studio uses Apple's Speech framework and other on-device machine learning capabilities to provide transcription and AI-assisted features.

All AI processing occurs entirely on your device. No audio, text, or content from your recordings is sent to any server — ours or anyone else's — for processing.

6. App Store and analytics

When you download and use Cast Forge Studio through the Apple App Store, Apple may collect certain aggregated, anonymised data (such as crash reports and usage statistics) as part of their standard App Store services. This data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and is not accessible to us in personally identifiable form.

Cast Forge Studio does not integrate any third-party analytics SDKs (such as Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar services).

7. Children's privacy

Cast Forge Studio is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our support channels, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Data retention and deletion

All data created in Cast Forge Studio lives on your device and in your iCloud account (if sync is enabled). You can delete any data at any time within the app, or by deleting the app itself.

Deleting Cast Forge Studio from your device removes all locally stored data. To remove iCloud data, you can use Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage on your Apple device.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users via an in-app notice. Your continued use of Cast Forge Studio after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
